St. James the Greater
Ask God to dispel the clouds of darkness that may still be hovering over your life.
However, Jesus, who is the Light of the World, wants to push away any clouds of darkness in your life and restore joy in your heart.
...start the day on the right foot.
"In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, crucified, I arise; bless me, O Lord; govern me, protect me, and confirm me in all good works, this day and for ever. Jesus, most beautiful and true light, shining in darkness, and enlightening every one that comes into this world; dispel all clouds of ignorance, and give me a right understanding, that in you, and through you, I may see and know the Father; whom to know is to live; and to serve, is to reign for ever." Amen.
before our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ....Each Friday Starting at 7:00 PM!
Seeing the Virgin Mary as our mother, a mother who leads us to her son, is important for us to understand. In the Gospel of John, at the scene of our Lord’s crucifixion, we read: “When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, ‘Woman, behold, your son.’ Then he said to the disciple, ‘Behold, your mother.’ And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.” (John 19:26-27)
At that moment, Jesus made Mary the mother of the church and for that reason she is the spiritual mother of each of us. Pope Francis recently said that we should “Speak with the Virgin Mary — she is a mother and will give you the grace and inspire you to do God’s will.”
Mary is the queen of our Catholic family, and through her prayers and example she will always guide us closer to her son rather than away from him.
Pray for the intercession of Mary for our needs
The Rosary, a great prayer of hope, offers particular graces to those who recite it.
It’s just not like other prayers. The Virgin Mary, who possessed an enduring hope and confidence in the work of Christ, was the first believer. It was Mary who was the first member of the Church, the first disciple of Jesus. In our day, when the Church appears to many to be sinking like Peter, we should resolutely call upon her intercession! We can be assured that she will pour forth grace upon grace into our hearts.
If our age is increasingly medieval, we have much to gain from the wisdom of medieval saints! We’re not in a new Middle Ages, not yet anyway, but the medieval saints will inspire us today.
