Let us begin with a prayer to our Holy Mother whom we plead for her intercession during this difficult period. May her intercession override the fears and  anxieties of this pandemic scourge, and bring healing of mind and body: Loving Mother of the Redeemer, Gate of heaven, star of the sea, assist your people who have fallen  yet strive to rise again. To the wonderment of nature you bore your Creator, yet remained a virgin after as before. You who received Gabriel's joyful greeting have pity on us poor sinners. Amen. Let us begin with a prayer: Act of Love for Lent Loving God, we enter the season of Lent in the spirit of joy, giving ourselves to spiritual strife, cleansing our soul and body, controlling our passions, as we limit our food, living on the virtues of the Holy Spirit; may we  persevere  in our longing for Christ so as to be worthy to behold his most solemn passion and the most holy passover, rejoicing the while with spirited joy. My simple message to you, as we enter into the weekend, was so perfectly spoken by our Holy Father this afternoon as he blessed all of mankind throughout the world (Urbi et Orbi): "Quiet! In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In his name, my God, have mercy. I'm sure many of you are passing the time with various activities...cleaning, TV binge watching, playing online and board games, etc. But, let's not forget to set aside time for what's really important...living our faith life.
