πŸ™

Today, we pray for Frs. Thomas Mosher and Thomas Nadeau of our diocese …and also for
Deacons John Guarino and Pete Gummere

Pray for vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and the religious life....πŸ™

“Eternal Father, we lift up to you these and all the priests and deacons of the world.
Sanctify them, heal and guide them.
Mold them into the likeness and holiness
of your Son, Jesus, the Eternal High Priest.
May their lives be pleasing to you. In Jesus' name, we pray."  Amen.πŸ™

Prayer for the Moment...

Prayer of Thanksgiving for
God's Graces.

How I thank you, Lord, that I am allowed
to flow and do not have to grasp, am allowed
to expand out into your blessed incomprehensibility
and do not have to puzzle anxiously  over
signs and written formulas.

For everything is a hieroglyphic but it tells of you,
and everything is a sign and points to you.
And over the universal riddle your mystery
dawns like a sun, and in the decline of all
worldly light, your greater light glimmers
in silence. Every road pushes me violently out
of myself and into the wilderness, and no longer
finding any road I can sense your wing and
your breath.

How I thank you, Lord, that you transcend
our heart, for at last everything we can
comprehend lies pitifully beneath us. And our
spirit does not desire to contain, but to
be contained in you, and even in knowing,
rather to be known by your heart. When all
wisdom collapses, it is not unknowing that we
experience, but rather the truth that all wisdom
is secured in you.

The wave of the world boils up boldly, but then
it's impetus overshoots itself and turns to spray,
and casts itself, widely dispersed, upon your
shore in spent adoration.

How I thank you, Lord, that you resolve
the painful wilderness of the world  only by
dissolving it into the blessed wilderness of your love,
and that everything conflicting and raging
within us is melted together in the crucible of
your Creator's might.

I thank you that everything in us which is
ambiguous and which, therefore, gleams
seductively,  is reconciled in you and beams
with the redemption that makes two into one.
You transfigure enigma and replace it
with mystery.

Everything, sin included, is to
you raw material and building stones.
Through your atonement you take each
being to yourself and, without destroying
its reality, you confer upon it a new being.
(Fr. Hans Urs von Balthasar)
