Greetings my brothers and sisters in Christ!

"Life and physical health are precious gifts entrusted to us by God. We must take reasonable care of them, taking into account the needs of others and the common good." Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC:) 2288

Let us begin with prayer:
May your protection, O Lord, we pray,
defend the humble and keep ever safe
those who trust in your mercy, that they
may celebrate the paschal festivities not
only with bodily observance but above
all with purity of mind. Amen.

We are only a couple of days from the beginning of the Easter Triduum.
The summit of the Liturgical Year is the Easter Triduum—from the evening of Holy Thursday to the evening of Easter Sunday. Though chronologically three days, they are liturgically one day unfolding for us the unity of Christ's Paschal Mystery.
The single celebration of the Triduum marks the end of the Lenten season, and leads to the Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord at the Easter Vigil.
The liturgical services that take place during the Triduum are:

§  Mass of the Lord's Supper
§  Good Friday of the Lord's Passion
§  Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord.

Are we prepared to receive Him in all His glory?!

"Pray for Our Priests" and "Pray for our Deacons":

Today, we pray for Fr. Agnel Samy H.G.N. of our diocese...and also for Deacon Pete Gummere.

"Eternal Father, we lift up to you these and all the priests, deacons of the world.
Sanctify them, heal and guide them.
Mold them into the likeness and holiness
of your Son, Jesus, the Eternal High Priest.
May their lives be pleasing to you.
In Jesus' name, we pray." Amen.

Don't forget to check out our Mater Dei website:
(https://materdeivermont.com/ for the Mass schedule, devotions, etc. Also, don't forget your weekly parish gift...it can be dropped off at the parish rectory, by mail or  online...https://materdeivermont.com/. Thank you!

No new announcements from our parish or the diocese today.

Please be reminded that, although we are not able to receive the sacraments directly, we can receive Christ through spiritual communion.
St. Thomas Aquinas once defined a Spiritual Communion as “an ardent desire to receive Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament [in Communion at Mass] and in lovingly embracing Him as if we had actually received Him.”

The parish is offering the movie : "The Passion of the Christ" and will be shown again this evening.  You can join in watching by calling the rectory for more information about time and  how to participate.

This is a difficult time; many are experiencing great anxiety. Know that your faith in God is paramount to all things of this earth.
Please take care of yourself...and your loved ones.
Pray...and pray some more.

"Father, may we receive your forgiveness and mercy as we celebrate the passion and death of the Lord who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
 Amen.

Until next time...
In His peace.
Deacon Ward
