Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

Grant, we pray, that we, who glory in the heart of your beloved Son and recall the wonders of His love for us, may be made worthy to receive an overflowing measure of grace from that fount of heavenly gifts.
Amen

First things first...
Continuing to remember all of our priests in our prayers...

Today, we pray for Fathers Stephen Hornat, SSE , Paul Houde, Thomas Houle, OFM and Richard Iaquyinto, OSB of our diocese…and also for Deacons Steve Ratte, Jim Rock, Ges Schneider and Gerry Scilla.

“Eternal Father, we lift up to you these and all the priests and deacons of the world.
Sanctify them, heal and guide them.
Mold them into the likeness and holiness
of your Son, Jesus, the Eternal High Priest.
May their lives be pleasing to you.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.” Amen.

Sunday
...Happy Father's Day!

Pray for all fathers...living and deceased.

GOD OUR FATHER, WE GIVE YOU THANKS AND PRAISE FOR FATHERS YOUNG AND OLD.
WE PRAY FOR YOUNG FATHERS, NEWLY EMBRACING THEIR VOCATION; MAY THEY FIND COURAGE AND PERSEVERANCE TO BALANCE WORK, FAMILY AND FAITH IN JOY AND SACRIFICE.
WE PRAY FOR OUR OWN FATHERS AROUND THE WORLD WHOSE CHILDREN ARE LOST OR SUFFERING; MAY THEY KNOW THAT THE GOD OF COMPASSION WALKS WITH THEM IN THEIR SORROW.
WE PRAY FOR MEN WHO ARE NOT FATHERS BUT STILL MENTOR AND GUIDE US WITH FATHERLY LOVE AND ADVICE.

WE REMEMBER FATHERS, GRANDFATHER, AND GREAT GRANDFATHERS WHO ARE NO LONGER WITH US BUT WHO LIVE FOREVER IN OUR MEMORY AND NOURISH US WITH THEIR LOVE."
AMEN

From the Vatican Newsroom...

Pope Francis notes Friday’s intention that priests will be holy and ministers of the joy of the Gospel.

Pope Francis is urging the faithful to keep priests in prayer, as he noted that Friday is the feast of the Sacred Heart, and also the World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests.
The pope noted the upcoming feast in his greetings to Spanish-language faithful at the end of the general audience on June 17.
“I encourage you to pray for priests,” he said, “for your parish priest, for those who are close to you and you know … so that through your prayer, the Lord strengthens them in their vocation and comforts them in their ministry, and that they always be ministers of the Joy of the Gospel for all people.”

Before I go to sleep...

"I lift up my heart and my prayers
to you, O Lord.
And ask that your blessings illumine my heart,
and that by loving truly in your name,
and living your will,
Your radiance will touch all whom I meet
today, tomorrow and for ever."
Amen.
